I’ve been using Flux for the past week and I can say that it has absolutely helped to reduce eye fatigue on late nights in front of my Mac. Flux Reduces Eye Strain & Eye Fatigue… and Helps Sleep? That is done just by pulling open the Flux menu and selecting to “Disable for an hour”. And yes, you can disable the app at any time, or set it to turn off for an hour if you’re going to do color sensitive work. The difference is entirely in overall warmth of the screen, but the intensity of that warmth depends on your lighting settings in the app. Default is on the left, and Flux adjusted is on the right: If this is the case, you will need to contact them to access these settings or for further help.You can’t really take a screenshot of the changes to offer a demonstration, so I cast a light sepia hue on a screenshot to give you an idea of the subtle change.

Note: If this does not work, it could be because someone else manages your computer settings (an IT department or administrator). Adjusting the slider to the left ( More Warm) will allow less blue light, making the screen colours appear yellower when Night Shift is active. Adjusting the slider to the left ( Less Warm) will allow more blue light when Night Shift is active. On the Night Shift screen, adjust the slider for Colour Temperature.If you choose Custom, set the times you would like Night Shift to turn on and off.

On the Night Shift screen, select the drop-down menu for Schedule.

You can set Night Shift to turn on at sunset and turn off at sunrise, or you can create a custom schedule with times to suit you. You can schedule Night Shift to turn on and off automatically depending on the time of day.

When you have finished, click the Close (red) button in the top left corner of the System Preferences window.

Night Shift will turn on until the next morning.

On the Night Shift screen, tick the checkbox for Manual.

On the display screen, select the Night Shift tab.

In the System Preferences window, select Display.

Select System Preferences from the menu.

Select the Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen.

How to adjust the colour temperature for when Night Shift is active Night Shift reduces the amount of blue light screens emits by increasing warmer, amber tones. To reduce the effects of blue light, activate Night Shift on your computer.
